INDUSTRIES WE SERVE
From the open-cut mines of the Bowen Basin to the sugar mills and ports of the Central Queensland coast, ABC Heavy Engineering keeps heavy plant running. The same seven workshop departments and field crews serve every sector below, in our Paget complex and on your site.
MINING
Mining is our core. We service electric draglines and face shovels, hydraulic excavators, coal processing plants and blast hole drill rigs across the Bowen Basin, with planned shutdowns, emergency breakdowns and in-situ rebuilds backed by the full workshop.
New manufacture and repair of rope sheaves and drums, walking frames, slew bearings rebuilt to as little as 30% of replacement cost, induction hardening, and machining to 150 tonne and 5.5 metre gear diameters. We keep production moving, with a strong field safety record.
SUGAR
We support the region's sugar mills through crushing season and the maintenance window, with mill shutdowns, breakdown response and the manufacture and repair of milling components, rolls, shafts and gearing.
Tight turnarounds suit our integrated workshop, where fabrication, machining, fitting and painting sit under one roof so a mill component can be stripped, assessed, repaired and returned without leaving the site.
PORTS & MARINE
For the ports of the Central Queensland coast we fabricate, machine and refurbish materials handling and structural equipment, and carry out on and offshore repairs to industrial and marine coating specifications.
Our 30,000 square metre hardstand and heavy transport fleet handle outsize components, and our painting department finishes them to the standard a marine environment demands.
CIVIL
For civil and construction work we supply and maintain earthmoving plant, fabricate structural steel, and keep fleets running with workshop repairs and field breakdown support.
Dozers, loaders, graders and excavators are available for hire and sale, backed by the same repair capability that services the mines.
AGRICULTURE
We serve regional agriculture with heavy equipment for hire and sale, component manufacture and repair, and the engineering to reverse-engineer hard-to-source parts when an original is no longer available.
Getting what you need, when you need it, is as easy as ABC, with swift local service that keeps seasonal operations moving.
ENERGY
For power stations we provide outage and shutdown support, relief operators and breakdown response, along with the heat treatment, machining and fabrication that critical plant components require.
Our switchyard and 11 kV capacity let us test and commission heavy electrical plant in the workshop, including 3.3 kV to power up underground mining equipment before it ships.
